Towards a Manifesto for Personal Construct Psychology

Abstract:
Writings of George Kelly that are relevant to political issues are considered, and personal construct research on such issues is reviewed. The politics and ethics of personal construct psychology are discussed, before the presentation of a draft manifesto setting out the fundamental values of this psychology and their implications for the political responsibilities of personal construct psychologists. Possible reasons for the reluctance of such psychologists to take a stand on political issues are outlined, and counter-arguments are presented.
